The Hemmer Motorsports Story
In 1991, Nick Hemmer, the oldest of the Hemmer brothers, began racing Snocross at the age of 12. He started off racing Heartland around the Midwest, and then the MRP and WSA Series. About 6 years later, Nick's younger brother Steve also began racing Snocross. Like Nick, Steve raced the MRP and later WSA Series. They both continued racing Snocross until it was time for their adult lives become the focus.

Their children began riding around the yard, quickly taking interest in snowmobiling and wanting to race. ERX Motor Park became a mainstay in the winter schedules with both practice days and the local Grassroots Race Series. As the kids developed their skills, they decided to try out more ISOC regional and National Snocross events. Eventually this would lead to the creation of Hemmer Motorsports, offering a family-oriented place for both their own kids and some local racers to gain experience in Snocross Racing.

Today, Hemmer Motorsports has grown to be a Polaris factory-backed race team with a dedicated and passionate crew. The team fields 2 Pro riders from around the country, alongside Avery and Lila Hemmer. The mentorship and professionalism the Pro riders bring to the team have benefited both daughters, allowing them to grow in their own racing careers and become competitive in their respective classes, and has elevated Hemmer Motorsports to a highly respected premier-level race team within the sport.
Alongside Snocross, the opportunity for Avery to get behind the wheel of a Mod-Kart in Champ off-road was presented in 2022. Her experience in racing Snocross translated well to a driver’s seat, and great results began to flow in. Multiple wins in the Sportsman(amatuer) division of the series, and a Mod-Kart Championship in 2024, has led her to the Professional ranks off off-road. 2025 will mark Avery’s first full season in the Pro-Spec class where she proved to be competitive once again at the Polaris World Championship weekend in Crandon, WI with 2 podiums in her first two starts.
